New Office Part II

So now I'm almost completely set up at the new office and I'm pretty well set in my driving routine.  I still love the drive, maybe I'll hate it one day but in the mornings I get to clear my head on the way to Shreveport...

And on the way home in the evening I get to unwind and listen to my favorite radio person.  I love the intro to his show.

Joye and I are taking a photography class at LSUS on Monday evenings and we love the teacher.  I have finally learned (and am still learning) how to get off the Auto mode on my digital camera.  In other words, we're learning about shutter speed, aperture, ISO.  Look at this, isn't this exciting:

Now I know what you're thinking...why the hell did she take a picture of a fan?  Well, ladies and gents, that's no regular fan, that fan is on high!  I increased the shutter speed!  Ha.  A regular Annie Liebowitz, Ansel Adams.....speaking of Ansel Adams, one of our assignments was to go see the Ansel Adams exhibit at the Norton Art Gallery.  Joye and I went yesterday morning.  There were no less than 8, yes eight men in suits following us around the place.  When we first walked in, one of them stopped us and said, "Ladies, please put your phones on silent and do not TOUCH any of the paintings or photography.  We felt like thieves the whole time there.  Eight suits!

By the way, I've gotten into the habit of taking my camera with me everywhere I go now.

I have to take many pictures of moving things so I'm off to the atrium to snap the water fountain in motion.  Ewww!  The excitement of it all.

Photo thought for the day: "Look, I'm not an intellectual - I just take pictures!"  Helmut Newton

New Office Updated

Between moving all that furniture and boxes, my back is killing me.  Actually, I'm just about getting settled and I couldn't love this place more.  Below are moving day pictures.

Mr. G doesn't come to the office so much anymore, so once again I'm by myself.  It's not too terribly lonely being up here.  I do miss his banter though.  And Brookshire's Uptown has the best gourmet deli and tons of good food that isn't offered in Mansfield.  Zipping to the grocery store, the liquor store and the bank is a snap and the morning 35 minute drive involves Glen Beck on XM radio.  And the afternoon drive involves Mark Levin.  So I'm a pretty happy girl these days.  I miss having lunch everyday at the house with Jim though - that's one negative.

I finally got my computer right.  It's been acting up for months now, catching a new virus every other week.  My new computer tech is a whiz and he installed Windows 7 on my computer so I'm very happy about that.  I love it.  However, he has just about convinced me that My next computer will be an Apple.  And he's just about talked me into giving in and buying an iphone.

When I have the office cleaned up I'll post new posh pictures.
